Famous Lip-Syncing Bloopers

Lip-syncing is a tried and tested way to ease a performer’s qualms in front of an audience. It is an efficient safety measure for most famous folks and if done right, can spare an entertainer from utter embarrassment. See, that’s not always the case for some artists. There are just days where it is unlucky to be on stage. The entertainment industry has utilized this trick for ages but occasional glitches can’t be avoided. Blame it on an electricity outage or a technical error, missing a tune has been a living nightmare for these entertainers.

1.Beyonce at Obama’s Inauguration

It seems like Beyonce is immune to the hard knocks of life. A misstep is unimaginable for someone like her. Whatever she belts out seems to be an instant hit. Though she received some backlash for deciding to lip-sync during President Obama’s inauguration back in 2013. Since Bey lacked enough time for rehearsals together with an orchestra and failed to do a proper soundcheck, the dazzling diva resorted to a track that has already been recorded. We have to credit Beyonce for sounding better than other lip-sync mishaps.

2.Ashlee Simpson on Saturday Night Live

Jessica Simpson’s younger sister, Ashlee, was able to land a musical guest role for Saturday Night Live back in 2003. Simpson’s first number from that night was her hit track Pieces of Me. It took off really well at first but when she went back on stage once more, the band moved on to play the next song and the vocal parts for Piece of Me repeated again. The degree of embarrassment must have been intense for the young songstress since there were millions of viewers on air that night. Simpson looked stunned when it happened so she awkwardly danced along and ran away from the stage. At present, Simpson is still pursuing a career in music so it’s safe to say she learned a lot from what happened.

3.Justin Bieber’s Milk Incident

It’s hard to imagine that someone as talented and as suave as Justin Bieber can have a few mishaps. But it did happen during the Arizonian leg of one of his world tours. The young pop star stunned fans when he missed a tune and vomited during one of his song numbers. It was then revealed that it was only a pre-recorded track. The Canadian superstar later explained the reason for the whole fiasco was because he chugged milk too quickly. Justin can credit his loyal fans for staying by his side even after the odd incident.

4.Mariah Carey’s New Year’s Eve Performance

Mariah Carey was ready to usher in the new year when, suddenly, her ensemble of dancers didn’t sync with the timing of the music, which was confusing to an extreme degree. Carey even began singing some vocals that weren’t right at the moment. Everything seemed to be poorly timed and it was seen in how the performers were on stage. The We Belong Together songstress blamed the lack of sound-checking in the program for the whole mishap. She even went on to also mention the audio engineers who weren’t there for the program.

5.Britney Spears

Britney Spears did an MTV Video Music Awards performance back in 2007 that ended up being horrible. The performance was supposed to be the pop star’s comeback after braving a tumultuous year. Spears shocked fans as she constantly missed her dance steps and seemed to be in a daze. It was pretty obvious that what the audience was listening to was a prerecorded track for the hit Gimme More. Britney has come a long way since then. We can credit her past experience for how much she’s changed over the years as she is now a doting mother and an amazing performer.
