Sarah McLachlan

The Canadian songstress released her debut album Surfacing back in 1997. She is known for her emotional ballads and alto soprano tones. She received classical training in voice, piano, and guitar. Her debut album, Touch remains her best-selling album to date — it also earned her four Juno Awards and Two Grammy awards since its release. Aside from her investments in music, McLachlan is also the founder of the Lilith Fair Tour, which celebrated female musicians from around the globe.

It enjoyed popularity between 1997 and 1999, then resumed once more in 2010. One of McLachlan’s biggest hits is Angel, which managed to peak at number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. A considerable feat back then when there were no social media to promote it — back then, it was only an artist’s talent that could get them noticed. Her most recent release is 2016’s Wonderland. Her fans love her intense music and vocal range.
