Kim Wilde is, without a doubt, very popular to a wide range of audiences since she was not only a DJ and television presenter but an author and singer as well. She made her debut in 1981, with the single Kids in America. It gave Wilde the breakthrough she needed, allowing her to achieve mainstream success quite easily. The song itself was well-received by the charts and also earned her a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, with 17 UK Top 40 hit singles.

Kim has sold 20 million singles and over 10 million records worldwide. Since then, Wilde has continued to release a successful string of singles and albums. She became one of the biggest acts of the 80s, with 25 of her singles reaching the Top 50 of the U.K. Charts. She holds the record of being the most popular solo performance by a British woman in the 1980s. Fortunately, her investments in music still continue to this day.
