Sophie b. Hawkins

Sophie B. Hawkins is a singer-songwriter and painter. She previously attended the Manhattan School of Music as a percussionist before she decided to pursue a career in music. Sophie took risks to be a singer and although she faced struggles, her career made it through. Fortunately for her, she managed to achieve both commercial and critical success with her first two albums. From these albums came her most popular tracks, including As I Lay Me Down, Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover, and Right Beside You.

Besides being a talented musician, Hawkins is also a strong advocate of various environmental causes and animal rights. She even received an acting credit for portraying Janis Joplin in the play Room 105, as well as for guest-starring in the TV series Community. Her most recent release was in 2012 and fans are anticipating a comeback. Hawkins is a vegetarian and a long-time supporter of both animal rights and environmental causes.
