Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman is best known for her songs, Fast Cars and Give Me One Reason. She is an American singer-songwriter born on March 30, 1964. Her namesake debut album was a multi-platinum hit worldwide and also earned her six Grammy nominations. She won four of those, including Best New Artist and Album of The Year. Suffice to say, listeners everywhere immediately recognized the talent that she has. Her early beginnings may have been rough, but Chapman proved that putting your investment into your passions will always pay off.

The singer-songwriter isn’t just active in the music scene, she is also known to support many different charities. This includes performing and attending various events such as amfAR, Make Poverty History, and AIDS/LifeCycle. Her most recent release is 2008’s Our Bright Future, which was nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Album at the Grammy’s.
