Joan Jett
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joan Jett became a prominent name in the music industry, thanks to her work in her band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The album I Love Rock-n-Roll was a career turning point for her and landed the singer at the top of the charts during the early ’80s. This album became number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Her notable hit songs include Crimson and Clover, Light of Day, and I Hate Myself for Loving You.
Dubbed as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Jett continues to perform on tour with her band. Recently, she received credit in a documentary entitled Bad Reputation. In 2015, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A much-deserved recognition for the “Original Riot Grrrl”. She is described as the queen of rock and roll even until today — and, at 62, Joan Jett still actively performs all over the world.
