PHYLICIA RASHAD
Phylicia Rashad earned the title of one of the best “moms” on television, which is not surprising given that she brought life to Clair Huxtable in The Cosby Show. This role propelled her to stardom as this was one of the highest-rated shows in the ‘80s until the ‘90s. After her stint in The Cosby Show, Rashad went back to perform on stage. She was awarded a Tony for the Best Leading Actress in a Play for her performance in A Raisin in the Sun. She also earned a nomination for This Is Us.
Rashad gave credit to Howard University, where she learned the arts, for training her to become a successful actor. Although she had difficulty breaking into the theatre scene, her landing the role of Clair Huxtable changed everything for her. She is currently a director, and nowadays, working for the revival of Blue.
