John Legend

John Legend has been making his audience swoon with his voice and songs, but how much about him do you really know? For starters, his real name is John Roger Stephens, so yes, many are shocked about this news. But the origin of his stage name is quite fun to say the least. It appears that his friend, J.Ivy, who is a spoken-word artist, started calling him Legend because his songs reminded him of old school soul legends. To his credit, it was Kanye West who wrote John Legend on John’s mixtape, so he went with it.

Legend knows that this was already a bold claim for someone who has yet to make a name for himself. For the singer, he hoped that he would be able to live up to the stage name that he chose for himself. Based on his chart-topping songs and albums, it seems that he has already succeeded in becoming a legend in the music industry.
