Matt Damon | Matthew McConaughey

When Matt Damon played the role of Rudy in the heart-wrenching insurance-claim movie The Rainmaker, the conclusion was inevitable—Damon is a good actor. He had come a long way from when he appeared on high school theater productions, and his acting has vastly improved, too, compared to the movie Mystic Pizza. All these did not go unnoticed as the actor has also been ranked among Hollywood’s most bankable stars.

How else could he showcase his acting prowess? Well, by impersonating Matthew McConaughey, of course. When asked by Letterman to deliver an impression of the latter, Damon obliged. He mimicked how McConaughey spoke with a deep, authoritative voice. His impersonation did not end there, and he even managed to do a perfect McConaughey-inspired Texan accent. There was also liberal use of the word “shirtless,” which drove the audience and the host into laughter. It was cool, right?
